Mean and Meaningful

There are 2 paths you can take if your spirit is broken. You can get mean or you can get meaningful. If you get meaningful, you are in for a long, arduous journey to maintain that state of being. You will go out of your way to try and understand your fellow human so that you can forgive them, thereby not imitating their unhealthy behaviors. If you go overboard, you become a selfless martyr, which you think is a good thing. You start robbing yourself of happiness and the riches of life so that you can accommodate everyone else. Pretty soon, everyone will expect you to sacrifice your soul so that they can project all their neediness onto you. You will become the "scapegoat" for the world. They will become more and more dependent on your selflessness.

If you get mean, you'll harsh everyone else's mellow. If you're the "meanie", you think you've simplified your life by protecting yourself from harms way...if you're mean first, then how can anyone hurt you? In fact, the "meanie" ends up expending way too much energy on protecting themselves from things that aren't even there much of the time. They're always on guard for that moment when they need to attack first. They often times end up the predator of the selfless martyr.

It's a codependent world.
