Since we now own our own home...a triplex actually...I wondered if I would feel differently about things. I wondered if I would feel pride and status in ownership.
I feel no differently about my own home than I did my own apartment because we don't really ever "own" anything. All of the property and land disputes dating back centuries and centuries were based on the ludicrous notion that anything can be owned. If there's any ownership at all, Mother Earth owns all of us. Our delusions that we can buy land and other things and that those things belong to us has caused so many ruthless, pointless wars and fights.
I do feel pride in that I am allowed to paint the walls my color and that the only one who can throw me out of my home now is the bank, who also thinks that they "own" my home.
Ownership is null and void.
